Megan Shows Off Ribbons with "Mikey"
Conejo Valley Arabian Horse Association Youth Members go to The
Arabian Horse Association's Youth Nationals in Albuquerque New
Mexico, July 26, 2008 - August 02, 2008.
Megan Violand is 16, has been riding since she was two out at Two
Winds Ranch (now Dos Vientos) in Newbury Park. You could get a pony
with a saddle and halter on it for $5.00 for as long as you wanted
to hike around in the hills. She would say "Mom, can I ride Sparky A
Pony?" (Sparky the pony). She also liked to ride the "Quarter" horse
outside K-Mart when she was little. Grandpa says that's how she got
her start was on a quarter horse. Megan also rode on the beach at
Pismo and would ride double with her mother when visiting relatives
in Ohio. She also insisted when she first started lessons at
Fieldstone on having a lesson in the rain, which they gave her.
Since she was 5 she has wanted to be a veterinarian.
She has always been compassionate about all animals (including
old pit bulls along the road, can we pick it up? she would say.) and
took care of Jackson (their dog) when he had his eye removed due to
cancer.Megan was also Region II Youth Director at Youth Nationals
for two years.
Megan will be showing SA Marzec Sen "Mikey" her Arabian Stallion
in the following classes: Purebred Hunt Seat Equitation 14-17,
Purebred Working Hunters over fences, Purebred Hunter Hack, Hunt
Seat Equitation over obstacles and Training Level Dressage, Megan

them as they show at the highly competitive National Level Show. We
will let you know how they placed when they get back!
